A new Senior Responsible Officer (SRO) for the New Dunedin Hospital has been appointed.
Helen Telford will pick up the role from John Hazeldine, and provide accountability to the Director-General of Health for the programme to meet its objectives, deliver the required outcomes and realise required benefits.
Helen, who is based in Queenstown, brings more than 20 years strategic health leadership experience to the position, and has held a pivotal role in the delivery of health projects here in New Zealand and across the ditch in Australia.
Over recent years, Helen partnered with NSW Health Infrastructure to develop and pilot a number of change consultancy and technical services across the standard hospital redevelopment project lifecycle.
She knows New Zealand’s health system and is looking forward to the challenge of overseeing and providing strategic leadership for New Zealand’s largest health infrastructure project.
